Present Tense Dialogues: Spanish Listening Practice
Do you want to improve your Spanish listening skills in a real and fun way?
In this lesson, I’ve put together an interactive exercise specifically designed for Spanish students looking to master everyday conversations. The present indicative is the foundation of communication. With this exercise, you won’t just review grammar—you’ll learn how to respond in daily situations: asking for information, checking in on someone, or asking for directions on the street.
How does this listening practice work?
This interactive test includes 15 short dialogues featuring common, useful phrases. Unlike other exercises, you’ll face a double challenge:
- Listen to the audio: You’ll need to identify the question or phrase being said in Spanish.
- Choose the logical answer: Pick the option that best fits the conversation from the choices provided.
It’s like having 15 real mini-conversations right on your screen! 🚀
What will you practice today?
While this exercise focuses on the present tense, the most important thing is the context. You’ll encounter everyday situations involving:
- Personal information: Questions about professions and how someone is feeling.
- Daily life: Routines, leisure plans, and schedules.
- Directions and help: How to ask about locations or services (bakeries, shops, etc.).
Tips to get the most out of this practice:
- Look at the images: The pictures provide visual clues about the context of the conversation. Use them!
- Don’t read first: Try pressing play on the audio before looking at the options. This will force your ears to work harder.
- Repeat out loud: Once you get the answer right and hear the correct response, repeat it yourself. This will significantly improve your Spanish pronunciation.
